In the ClassroomOur instructors teach the latest hands-on skills that prepare you for your first Behind-The-Wheel Lesson. Classes are fun and interactive; on the third day our guest visitor is Chris Hammett from a local area police department, Traffic Division. Our classes are taught with state of the art video equipment. This ensures all the students in the classroom can hear and see what is being taught by the classroom instructors. We also have the latest DVDs of Driver Education. |
We instruct our students at a pace where you can achieve the best results without intimidation or pressure. The key to a good driver is to build good driving skills, good techniques and instill confidence in handling both the instrumentation and operation of the vehicle. We offer a wide variety of programs, from first time drivers to brush-up review sessions for Adults & Seniors. We also offer driver's training for people with special needs who would like to acquire their permit. This is done with high quality instructions combined with patience and understanding for your particular situation. All four-day classes must be completed to receive a Driver's Education Certificate. However, you may attend classes in any order to fit your individual schedules. Classes are subject to change and/or cancellation without notice due to class size. There are no refunds for services paid. Review the classroom training outline. Classes take place on location at Stanford Driving School 3960 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, CA 94306 (get directions). All classes begin promptly at 9:00am and end at 4:30pm. Students should arrive at 8:45am on the first day for class registration and check in. Note: Prices will change effective June, 2008. Step 1: Complete Registration Form"As professional instructors, on a daily basis we see a lack of knowledge by students once they get in the car to drive with us. The basic requirements for passing their driving test are quite often missing, such as WHY there is a need to check over their shoulders for traffic in the blind spot, HOW to prepare for and react to a sudden yellow light, HOW to properly make a right turn (especially on a red light), etc. A major reason for this knowledge deficit stems from a lack of classroom participation and/or instructor student interaction with questions and commentary. In the classroom environment, the above skills and more are covered extensively." Read more... |
